JoPad is a community company created by Jo Neary.
Jo is a UK based comedian and writer, who has worked with lots of wonderful artists, to create shows mainly about art, for children and their grown ups. Jo was nominated for Best Newcomer Comedy Award at Edinburgh Fringe for her first solo comedy show and nominated for Best Show at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival in 2016.
Jo has worked for many years with fellow art school comedians and writers, including Adam Buxton, Johnny Vegas and Graham Duff as well as UK artists Mel Brimfield, Ben Rivers, Jane Pollard and Iain Forsyth. Jo is a regular performer at Robin Ince curated shows and specialises in her own highly original character comedy shows, which always include interpretive dance.
Jo is currently developing two new family comedy shows about art and her latest solo comedy show, a guide to being a (interpretive dancing) wife. Jo’s TV and stage credits for children and young people include Young Dracula, Skins, So Awkward, a comedy Christmas science show with Howard Read, Bec Hill and Tiernan Douieb at The Bloomsbury Theatre and performances with Comedy 4 Kids.
